Montcerrat G. Sanchez, MSW, LSW (she/her)
Associate Therapist
Monse is a first-generation Latina who is passionate about working with teens, young adults, and adults. She mainly specializes in the Latine community by addressing cultural challenges, including machismo, family dynamics, and the societal pressures often faced within our community. Monse’s role focuses on helping clients navigate mental health concerns that arise from cultural stressors, such as rigid gender roles, intergenerational trauma, and the stigma surrounding mental health in Latine culture.
Growing up in a Latine household, she personally experienced the challenges and expectations that come with balancing cultural traditions and modern life. This background allows her to understand the internal conflicts her clients may face deeply. Monse aims to provide a safe, supportive space where individuals can express their struggles, find solutions, and empower themselves to lead fulfilling lives. Whether it’s helping a college student adjust to academic pressures or supporting an adult grappling with family expectations, she strives to tailor her approaches to each person’s unique experience.
Monse’s work and experience have gained her a dual background in macro social work and clinical practice. She not only brings an understanding of broader community challenges but also offers targeted strategies for individuals facing Latine-specific risk factors, such as immigration stress, acculturation difficulties, and barriers to accessing mental health care. Her therapeutic style is rooted in empathy and cultural competence, helping clients break free from limiting societal norms while honoring their cultural identity.
